We have now reached the Intermediate Mill and can see the 2 strands of billet travelling through the stands much faster now the material is smaller. This week we return to the Scunthorpe Rod Mill (SRM) to follow the progress of the steel as it is converted from a bloom to a coil of wire rod. Here we can see the steel, now clearly identifiable as wire rod, coiling onto the Stelmor Conveyors.
